  1. Regarding basic lead carbonate, it is only possible to identify the main components due to the overlap of calcium carbonate, lead carbonate and calcium sulphate peaks. Lead carboxylates could also be present, with bands approximately 1500 and 1400 cm−1; however, because the peaks are located on the same wavelengths as proteinaceous compounds and carbonates, they cannot always be identified
