From: Cleaning testing of nineteenth-century plaster surface models with thin polyacrylamide-based gel layers attached to flexible polyethylene films

SAG swollen in the effective aqueous solution was placed on the soiled plaster surface facing with the hydrogel side to the plaster (i). The SAG was removed after 1 min of contact leaving the plaster surface cleaner (ii). The remaining soil particles were then removed by gently rolling a dry cotton swab over the treated plaster surface (iii, iv)
