In this image, the traces of the old Beas and old Ravi courses are superimposed over the hydrogeological map published by Muhammad Hasan et al. [91, Fig. 1]. This map shows the old course of the Beas in the centre of the saline aquifers. The presence of saline aquifers also correlates with the areas that in the early Survey of India Maps are defined as barren lands and “jangals” (green areas in the image)
